Ms. Torres is President. She
is a past president of the State Bar of New Mexico. Ms. Torres
serves as New Mexico's State Delegate in the ABA House of
Delegates and works actively in the House Minority Caucus, where
she chairs the Minority Caucus Resolutions Committee. She is
also a member of the ABA Commission on Racial and Ethnic
Diversity. Ms. Torres serves as of counsel with the Beall &
Biehler Law Firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and her practice
focuses on employment, civil rights and insurance defense.
James P. Nolan is president-elect and will serve as NCBP
president in 2010. Mr. Nolan is a past president of the Anne
Arundel Bar Association and the Anne Arundel Bar Foundation. He
has served on the Maryland State Bar Association's board of
governors and is a past president of the MSBA. A member of the
ABA House of Delegates, he is the managing director of Council,
Baradel, Kosmerl & Nolan, P.A., in Annapolis, Maryland.
Frederic
S. Ury is treasurer. He will succeed to the president-elect and
ultimately will serve as NCBP president in 2011. Mr. Ury is a past
president of the Connecticut Bar Association. He has served as a
vice-chair and chair of the association’s litigation section and was
founding editor-in-chief of the section’s newsletter Sidebar. A member
of the ABA House of Delegates, Mr. Ury is also a founding member of Ury
and Moskow, LLC, a firm based in Fairfield, Connecticut.
Karol Corbin Walker is secretary. She will succeed to the office of
treasurer and president-elect and ultimately will serve as NCBP
president in 2012. Ms. Walker is a past president of the New Jersey
State Bar Association and the Garden State Bar Association, which is New
Jersey’s statewide African American attorney group. She is a member of
the ABA House of Delegates as well as the ABA Standing Committee on
Federal Judicial Improvements. Ms. Walker is also the current chair of
the National Bar Association’s Budget Committee. She is a shareholder in
the law firm of LeClairRyan, and is resident in its Newark, New Jersey
office.

the NCBP Nominating Committee. He is a past president of the
State Bar of Oklahoma and served on the NCBP Executive Council
from 2001-2004. Mr. Crosthwait is in private practice with the
