Revolution in Aging – A Talk
for All Ages
Chris Crowley, co-author of the best-selling Younger Next Year
series, was the keynote speaker for the Saturday plenary session. A
retired litigation partner at the New York law firm Davis Polk &
Wardwell, Mr. Crowley related to the audience quite well. He
explained how older men and women can reverse the aging process by
incorporating physical and emotional fitness into their daily
routine, thereby becoming functionally younger.
This was not the typical lecture on exercise. Not only did he
explain the genetics of how and why adult bodies and brains react to
exercise, Mr. Crowley gave startling statistics. He pointed out that
70% of aging is preventable and that 50% of accidents and health
issues from age 50 and up can be avoided – primarily by exercise.
His message was sobering yet positive in that he emphasized the
amazing control men and women have over the quality of their lives,
if they make the effort.
